Accounts and redeem
Do I need an account to read?
No. Guests can read full articles and use in-page audio. Vocabulary and quizzes require a Manager account first; both stay free after you register. Without signing in you cannot keep long-term progress or open full learning reports.
How do I sign up?
Register with an email. After verification you are the Manager. Learners have no separate sign-up, and no email or password of their own.
Why can’t I study right after signing in?
The Manager is the account owner, not a learning profile. To read, answer quizzes, and generate reports, create a Learner on the account page (display name and 6-digit PIN), then switch into that Learner.
How do Manager, Learner, and Guest differ?
Three roles, different jobs. Reading, answers, reports, and membership live on the Learner. The Manager creates profiles, redeems codes, and changes sign-in details. A Guest is not signed in.

How does a Learner enter?
Learners cannot sign in alone. Flow: Manager signs in with email → picks a Learner on the account page and switches → enters that Learner’s PIN.
The PIN unlocks that Learner. It is not a login name and not the Manager password.
Can I open the Manager page from a Learner?
No. Learner chrome shows only the display name and sign-out. To manage Learners, redeem, or change email/password, sign out, then sign in as Manager and open the account page.
How many Learners can one Manager create?
Up to four. Display names are 1–20 characters and must not be identical under the same Manager.
You can create just one for yourself. Progress, reports, and membership are separate per Learner.
What do I enter to create a Learner?
A display name and a 6-digit PIN — both required. The PIN cannot be six identical digits, 123456, or 654321.
How many Manager accounts per email?
One email maps to one Manager account.
What can the Manager account page do?
Three things:
- Create / rename / reset PIN / disable Learners, and switch into one
- Redeem for a chosen Learner; see expiry and unlocked books
- Change sign-in email and password
This version cannot delete a Learner or clear learning records.
How do redeem codes work?
The Manager enters the code on the account page and names which Learner receives it.
- No Learner yet: create one first
- One Learner: defaults to that person
- Two or more: pick someone, confirm, then redeem
Each code redeems once. Access appears only on the selected Learner. Learners cannot redeem.
Redeeming more time on the same Learner stacks from the later of today and that Learner’s current end date. If a book is already unlocked, redeeming the same book again says you already have it and does not consume another grant.
Can I disable a Learner?
Yes. After disable you cannot switch in. Past reports stay. This version does not delete Learners.
Remaining membership days and unlocked books stay on that Learner and cannot move to someone else.
Can I clear a Learner and reuse it for someone else?
No. Renaming only changes the label. It does not rebind membership. This version also has no “clear learning record” to start fresh as someone else.
For someone else’s progress and reports, create a new Learner and redeem for them. If this person no longer needs the profile, disable it. Leftover days stay; no cash refund and no transfer.
Forgot a Learner PIN?
The Manager resets it on the account page.
How many devices can one Manager use?
A Manager may keep two Manager sessions; each Learner may keep two Learner sessions. The two pools are separate. A third sign-in asks you to confirm, then ends the oldest session in that pool. You can also end a session from the account page.
Guest reading and audio do not use a session slot. Vocabulary and quizzes need registration; both stay free after that.
