A New Ingredient for Sun Protection
Many people love to play outdoors on hot summer days. To stay safe, they put special lotion on their skin. For twenty years, companies in the United States used the same old ingredients in these products. Now, a big change is happening.
In August, health officials approved a new ingredient called bemotrizinol. Shoppers in Europe, Canada, and Australia have used it safely for a long time. However, it is completely new to store shelves in America.
Older skin products have a few problems. Some mineral creams leave a thick white layer on your skin. Other chemical liquids break down quickly in strong sunlight. They can also sink past your skin into your body.
Bemotrizinol helps solve these common problems. Its pieces are too large to pass into your body. It also stays strong under the hot sun for many hours. It protects against deep rays that make skin age early.
Using good lotion helps you enjoy the sun safely. You can also wear a big hat and sunglasses to stay cool.
